GRANITE BAY – The attempted carjacking of an elderly woman on Tuesday afternoon ended with an arrest. The crime occurred in Granite bay as the woman sat in her car.
She was “entertaining her grandson while her granddaughter took an exercise class.”
The peaceful and playful time at Granite Bay Park then ended when a man approached man. The suspect grabbed her cell phone and car key.
For her part, the woman honked her horn and “tried to push him away.”
A bystander came and assisted the vicitm to getting the would-be thief to run away.
AN alert CHP officer heard the report and spotted the suspect nearby. 32-year-old Eurado Amparan’s next attempt will be at securing his freedom.
PCSO charged him with robbery and attempted carjacking. Law enforcement never found the stolen phone. However, they did find a SIM card, presumably from the phone.
Finally, Amparan’s bail is at $250,000.
