MADERA – The MPD announced the arrests of three different people in one day for auto theft. On May 30 it started with James Lopez.
Officers chased Lopez near Cleveland Avenue and County Club Drive. However, Lopez’ getaway ended when he lodged his stolen car on “a small concrete border.”
Lopez tried to run through the nearby river. Officers waited for him on the other side of the water.
Next, Latonya Luckett’s arrest was not as exciting. Officers arrested her “as she arrived in Madera,” after stealing a car from Merced.
Finally, Joey Martinez possessed a stolen ATV while on probation for auto theft. By the way, Lopez was also “on probation out of Fresno for auto theft.”
