LOS BANOS – A helpful neighbor helped to stop a residential burglary on Tuesday morning.
The caller knew his neighbors were out of town. He also recognized the burglar as someone they all knew. Finally, the caller knew the out-of-town neighbors did not want this man in their home.
So the neighbor called the police. Officers arrived to the 100 block of Chianti Court. They heard noise coming from the garage. Also, they noted a stolen car parked in front of the residence.
However, the man in the house would not come out when the police called for him to do so. LBPD called the homeowner to confirm that whoever was in the house was not supposed to be.
Next, a family member came and brought a house key to the officers, who then went in. K-9 Maverick joined in the search, and they found 26-year-old Ramiro Gonzalez hiding in the garage.
Gonzalez also had meth in his possession. LBPD charged him with residential burglary, possession of a controlled substance and probation violation.
The LBPD declared, “Another great example of the public and police working together.”
