POMONA – Last night, the Pomona PD’s Major Crimes Task Force conducted a human trafficking rescue at the Holt Corridor, also known as “The Track” or “The Blade.”
First, The VICE operation flooded the notorious area with plainclothes officers. Consequently, the operation’s surveillance revealed a 15-year-old female human trafficking victim. Her pimp was out of sight.
Subsequently, the Major Crimes Task Force interviewed the victim and activated appropriate resources to assist her.
What’s Next?
At the very least, the human trafficker faces a charge of 647 (b) PC – Prostitution, for this insidious crime. In addition, other charges may follow an eventual arrest.
Corporal Hernanded added, “This investigation is ongoing. The MCTF is attempting to identify the human trafficker (pimp). The Pomona Police Department takes a zero-tolerance approach to human trafficking and sexual exploitation.”
Consequently, law enforcement withheld information about the child due to her age and for her protection.
In conclusion, Pomona PD added their goal is to “take a proactive approach to improving the quality of life. (We do this) by addressing and deterring human trafficking and prostitution activities along the Holt Ave corridor.”
