BURNEY – On Saturday afternoon two deputies spotted an off road motorcycle and an off road ATV driving on Highway 89 south.
The two vehicles traveled at a high rate of speed, and failed to yield to the deputies. The two vehicles continued driving, and then split up.
The ATV continued south on 89, then turned into the driveway of 19420 Highway 89. The resident at that location jumped a fence to prevent the ATV from striking him.
Howver,t eh ATV continued on, reversing and nearly struck two patrol vehciles. Back onto 89, the ATV then drove onto a dirt road.
Next, a foot pursuit ensued and deputies located the unoccupied ATV 100 yards away in thick brush. Then K-9 Blitz assisted in the capture of 30-year-old Troy Marks.
Officers located the motorcycle driver, 28-year-old Maurice Alessandro, at 19573 Highway 89.
Marks’ charges are felony evading arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, vehicle code violations and felony probation violation.
Alessandro’s charges are felony evading arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, vehicle code violations and driving on a suspended license.
