HOLLISTER – Concerned citizens phoned in concerning a reckless driver on June 13 after 5:00 pm. The driver swerved and ran red lights around Union Road at Cienega Road.
Finally, at 5:32, a sergeant located the driver near San Benito and Park Streets. The driver did not stop at the officers attempt and fled.
The pursuit “continued for several blocks until the suspect stopped.”
Police identified 22-year-old Cody Giovanni Leyva as the errant driver. They charged him with DUI of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and evading police.
The HPD especially “thanks the community members for being vigilant and proactive in reporting the reckless driver.”
