SAN FRANCISCO – His name is Samuel Youmtoub. Surveillance cameras caught him in two unprovoked attacks that occurred in May.

In the first place, on May 24, a 38-year-old homeless man lay on the sidewalk on Leavenworth Street.  A suspect comes and kicks him in the face several times and then “casually walks away.”

Then, on May 29, a man rode on a Muni bus.  The suspect approached the man, grabbed him by his hair and repeatedly slammed the victim’s face into a steel handrail.  This broke the victim’s nose.

The SFPD says that both attacks appear to be unprovoked and that the attacker did not know his victims.

On June 17 an officer recognized 58-year-old Youmtoub from the video, as he walked on Market Street.

Arrested, the suspect then faced two charges of aggravated assault.  The SFPD says, “Due to pending identification matters no booking photo is being released at this time.”
