SONOMA – All in all, Easy made it easy. An in-progress theft at the Safeway at 477 West Napa Street occurred on June 24 at 9:30 pm.
The caller saw the theft happening and gave SPD a description of the suspect and her silver minivan
Consequently, five blocks away a deputy spotted the van and pulled it over to see if it was the suspect.
In the back of the van “deputies saw several items of store merchandise in plain view.”
Moreover, the witness who called the SPD came and positively identified the woman as the suspect.
The take? Baby formula and “over-the-counter medication that requires an ID for purchase.”
In all,. investigators recovers over 400 items worth over $9,500. They believe some of the items came from other Safeway stores as well.
Police arrested 23-year-old Antioch resident Ashley Chiane Easy and 41-year-old San Francisco resident Julio Cesar Cuellar.
Their charges are burglary, stolen property and conspiracy. Easy also provided a false name at first to officers.
