FRESNO – A group of six has been arrested for a series of robberies. The first victim was a 70-year old man waiting for his bus in Southwest Fresno at Fresno and Belmont at 4 PM on June 9th.
In brief, they robbed him of his cell phone. Half an hour later, the group targeted a U.S. Postal Carrier in Central Fresno. Holding him up at gun point on the 2000 block of East Harvey, the thieves made off with the carrier’s wallet, phone, and several packages from his mail truck.
Then, the next known robbery occurred on July 11th about 4:30 AM. A male employee at the Liquor Zone on 1452 West Ashland worked his shift. At gun point he gave up his keys, jacket, and other items.
The band encountered resistance about an hour later. A woman walking by the canal on West Avenue refused to hand over her bag of recyclables. Shortly thereafter, police stopped their vehicle as they pulled up to a home on West Fountain Way.
As a result, Police found the Liquor Zone employee’s belongings. The six arrestees are:
- 27-year old Manuel Espinosa Valenzuela;
- 24-year old Kasandra Valenzuela;
- 21-year old Ernest Salinas;
- 19-year old Jaden Grenados;
- 18-year old Mindy Romero; and
- a 16-year old juvenile whose identity is not being released.
