CLEARLAKE – CPD stopped a man in an evacuation area on Sunday morning who ended up in custody and arrested.
At 10:50 a.m. 32-year-old Gregory Tyrell Brunner told investigating police that he is a Lakeport resident. Furthermore, he said he was on his way to the store. Also, the LCSD said, “Brunner did provide a residence address within the evacuation area.”
In contrast, Brunner drove on an expired driver’s license. Above all, in his vehicle he had a loaded handgun with the serial numbers removed.
Most noteworthy, Brunner is a convicted felon, and that did not help his case.
His charges include –
- driving on a suspended license;
- unauthorized person in an evacuation area;
- convicted felon in possession of a firearm;
- convicted felon in possession of ammunition;
- concealed firearm in a vehicle; possession of firearm with serial number removed.
Brunner’s bail is $25,000.
“The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public that if they live in an evacuated area and have not evacuated, they are asked to stay at their property and shelter in place.”
