Riverside County Youth Pastor Charged with Sexual Assault Spanning Nearly 20 Years

WILDOMAR – The charges of multiple sexual assaults of children date back nearly 20 years.
Police arrested suspect Malo ‘Victor’ Monteiro, 45, of Colton. They booked him at Cois Byrd Detention Center on numerous felony charges related to sexual assaults on juveniles. Authorities identified Monteiro as a youth pastor at a local church and arrested him without incident in Wildomar.
According to the RCSD, Wildomar police in June received reports of suspected lewd acts committed against juveniles.
Sheriffs from the department’s Lake Elsinore Station conducted a subsequent investigation. They determined that Monteiro sexually assaulted several victims over a nearly 20-year span between 1999 and 2017.
Police did not release the name of the church where Monteiro worked. ABC7 named Faith Baptist Church and Menifee Baptist Church as two churches where Monteiro operated. They urge anyone with information about the case to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
