PALO ALTO – Police arrest one auto burglar as her accomplice ran away and eluded arrest on August 2.
Officers patrolled the Stanford Shopping Center and noticed a slowly driving white 2002 BMW M-5. They had an idea that the occupants were casing parked cars, so they laid back and watched.
Sure enough, the male passenger got out and smashed the window of a parked 2017 Volvo XC-60. He then removed a backpack from the car.
Officers moved in and the suspect dropped the backpack and ran. Some officers chased the suspect while others detained his female driver.
Even with the help of canine teams, police were unsuccessful in capturing the fleeing male suspect.
20-year-old Vallejo resident Nakiyah Shereese Polk was not so lucky. Her charges are auto burglary and conspiracy. Her accomplice remains unnamed. His description – black male in his 20’s, 6’3″, skinny, dark sweatshirt and blue jeans.
