RIVERSIDE – A shooting at Bobby Bonds Park on June 12 moved towards a resolution with an August 3 arrest.
At 12:20 p.m. on June 12 the RPD received a call of several shots fired at the park. A male fired shots at another male, according to the report.
Responding officers were unable to locate any victims or suspects. Investigators found “evidence of a shooting at the park.”
Gang Unit detectives continued the investigation and developed information. Consequently they identified and began a search for the shooter.
Finally, on August 3 they arrested him. As they conducted surveillance on an apartment at 1100 block of Blaine Street, they saw their man. As he drove away, detectives stopped him and then searched his apartment.
At the apartment detectives discovered a firearm. 18-year-old Moises Gonzalez was arrested and charged with attempted murder, obstructing police and weapons violations. His bail is $1 million.
