EUREKA – On August 15 a gas station robbery occurred in the 1700 block of 4th Street. It was 2:00 a.m. when a suspect entered the gas station.
The suspect had a knife and a pipe, with which he “attacked” an employee of the station. Then he took lottery tickets and fled on foot into the rear of the building. He escaped from the responding EPD.
Afterward, the employee was not injured from the attack. Surveillance film helped them identify the robber as 32-year-old Nicholas Savieo.
At 3:40 a.m. that same morning another gas station on the 1000 block of Broadway reported an incident. There, the suspect produced a knife and demanded money. Then he took the employee’s keys and drove away in the stolen 1999 Pathfinder.
On August 15 CHP arrested Savieo as he was in possession of the Pathfinder.
EPD says, “The suspect’s weapon and description (int he second robbery)matched the earlier description of Savieo. However, the identity of the second robbery suspect has not been confirmed.”
Savieo’s charges are robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.
