VICTORVILLE – The suspect is a lurking machete-wielding purse snatcher. Detectives are searching for the late-night robber who followed women home and slashed them with a machete.
The two assault-with-a-deadly weapon robberies occurred near 11 PM on August 27 on the 12500 block of Tablerock Lane, and again on September 1 on the 14800 block of Coachman Road.
Subsequently, as each victim arrived at their respective driveways, a small dark sedan arrived driven by a black male wearing a hoodie who ran toward them. Each time, the suspect slashed the victims with a large machete-style weapon. He then stole their purse and fled.
As a result, responders airlifted an adult victim to the hospital with major injuries. The second time, a juvenile victim suffered moderate injuries.
Victorville PD Detective Scott Robles said the black male suspect is “between the ages of 16 and 24, approximately 5’09” to 6’, with a very thin build.”
