SANTA ANA – The SAPD arrested two suspects for four armed robberies that all occurred within five days.
In addition, “Detectives believe the suspects may be responsible for additional robberies in the Orange County area.”
Detectives identified a suspect in the four robberies that occurred from September 19 – 23.
Then, on September 24th, an officer spotted the suspect as he walked in the 400 block of South Maple Street. The officer arrested the robbery suspect, and further investigation identified his female getaway driver. They arrested her the next day.
The two arrestees are –
- Fernando Velasquez (28) Santa Ana, charged with armed robbery;
- Lizeth Carrillo (21) Santa Ana, charged with armed robbery.
The robberies they committed occurred at these places and times –
- 9/19 9:10pm, Game Stop Store (1030 S Main St.) Suspect enters the store, simulates weapon;
- 9/20 8:45pm. Game Stop Store (2860 S Bristol St.) Suspect enters the store, simulates weapon;
- 9/23 10:37pm, Shell Gas Station (2641 N Bristol St.) Suspect enters the gas station, brandished black handgun; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6rdbqh3nKA
- 9/23 11:07pm USA Gas Station (2730 W McFadden Ave.) Suspect enters the gas station, brandished black handgun.
In all four robberies the suspect took “an undisclosed amount of US currency.”
