Ventura County – Authorities recently arrested a meth dealer and a backyard grower. Officers suspected 51-year-old Thousand Oaks resident Dana Douglas of being involved in narcotics sales. The VCSO East County Street Narcotics Team and the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit ended up arresting Douglas on the afternoon of October 3rd.
According to VCSD spokesman Detective Sgt. Eduardo Malagon, detectives had a signed search warrant in hand. Then they conducted “a traffic stop” on a vehicle Douglas was driving at 3:00 that afternoon.
As the cops performed their search, they found “over an ounce” of methamphetamine apparently packaged for sale inside Douglas’ car. Therefore that discovery earned Douglas a trip to Ventura County Jail. Consequently, law enforcement booked him for possession of controlled substances, with his bail set at $130,000.
Immediately following Douglas’ arrest, detectives then went to his home. There they found more methamphetamine and assorted paraphernalia commonly associated with ongoing illegal narcotics sales.
Similarly, at the residence detectives contacted 49-year-old John Kuhl. He actively engaged in the cultivation and processing of marijuana.
Because he had no permits or licenses permitting such endeavors within legal guidelines of California Proposition 64, detectives seized “numerous” marijuana plants and “over ten pounds” of processed marijuana product. Kuhl received a misdemeanor citation for possession of a controlled substance.
