LAKEHEAD – A burglary trio struck a residence on September 30 at 1:00 a.m. The group struck on the 1800 block of Pine Street.
However, a neighbor called the police to report the burglary. The neighbor said that the burglars stole several rifles and shotguns.
In addition, the burglars left in a white Honda Passport “with a spare tire on the back.” The caller even got a partial read of the license plate – the first four characters.
Before long a Shasta Lake deputy, travelling north on Interstate 5 saw a vehicle going south on the same. The deputy lost the vehicle, but another deputy spotted it at 1880 Shasta Street.
A female resident of the house told arriving deputies that she found 3 men in her home when she arrived.
The deputies then surrounded the house. Phonexay Phonepaseuth came out first, but did not identify himself or give any other information.
After over an hour of continuous calling into the home with a PA, SWAT came to assist.
Once SWAT “positioned their armored vehicles around the house,” the other two suspects exited.
Mark Blake and Jesse Caldwell joined their partner in crime under arrest. Inside the residence they ha djust exited cops found discovered –
- the two stolen 12 gauge semi-auto shotguns;
- one stolen AR15;
- a stolen AR10;
- one stolen 300 Winchester magnum bolt action rifle;
- and an assortment of ammunition had been hidden under a secret trap door in the living room.
The charges for the trio are –
Caldwell – burglary; felon in possession of firearms and ammunition and obstructing officers.
Blake – two outstanding felony warrants and obstructing officers.
Phonepaseuth – misdemeanor warrant, obstructing an officers.
