WATSONVILLE – A late-night stabbing at a restaurant led to the speedy arrest of the suspect.
On 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning the WPD received a call to respond to the 100 block of Main Street. A 23-year-old man suffered a stab wound to the chest.
The victim received treatment at an out-of-county trauma center. He was since been released from the hospital,.
The WPD, CHP and Santa Cruz District Attorney’s Office then banded together in investigation. Surveillance footage and witness tips helped them name the stabbing suspect.
Soon they arrested 29-year-old Omar Contreras at this Las Lomas home for the stabbing.
Contreras is currently in Santa Cruz County Jail with a $375,000 bail.
