TULARE – Fifty-five officers from various agencies in Tulare County joined officers nationwide on October 17th to try and serve 291 domestic violence related arrest warrants around the country.
In Tulare County, officers arrested 16 men and two women during the National Family Violence Apprehension Detail. This first took place in Clackamas County, Oregon. In the first place, twelve of the arrests are for domestic violent offenses.
Three of the arrests are for drug or alcohol related charges. And three other arrests are for possessing and cultivating marijuana with the intent to sale. Furthermore, law enforcement confiscated one hundred-fifty pounds of marijuana, processed and packaged in individual bags.
Finally, local law enforcement will continue to serve warrants for violators of domestic violence laws. This is in “an ongoing effort to find and arrest offenders and bring justice and closer to victims.”
