Santa Barbara County – Deputies arrested a lady burglar after a brazen burglary. It took place at one of the area’s leading employers in the middle of the day on October 10th. She targeted Decker’s—known worldwide as the manufacturer and distributor of Ugg Boots. The burglar allegedly took $2,000 worth of goods from the Decker’s Brand Showcase wholesale outlet in Goleta.
According to SBCSD Public Information Officer Kelly Hoover, the suspect was recorded on surveillance video as she pilfered garments and then “fled in a GM long-bed truck with a logo on the side.” They broadcast the video evidence via the SBSD Facebook and website channels with an appeal for public help in identifying the suspect.
Shortly thereafter, a member of the community recognized the suspect and her vehicle and promptly called the Sheriff’s Tip Line to anonymously identify 44-year-old Goleta resident Stacee Ann Walker as the culprit on the video. On October 18 SBSD deputies contacted Walker, an active probationer.
Then they searched her vehicle and residence pursuant to her probation terms. Furthermore, that search revealed items stolen from Decker’s, “along with heroin and syringes.”
Detectives took Walker into custody with incident and then transported her to Santa Barbara County Jail. There law enforcement booked her on charges of burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. She remains in custody with her bail set at $20,000.
