Santa Barbara – Perhaps the warm Indian Summer days were a contributing factor when 18-year-old Ontario resident Michael Callueng decided to go traipsing around an upscale Santa Barbara neighborhood on the afternoon of October 21st… completely naked.
Callueng’s outing came to the attention of the SBPD just after 2:00 p.m. on that sunny Sunday. That is when a 911 call came in to police dispatchers reporting “a nude man prowling in a backyard.”
Responding officers learned that a resident confronted an unclothed man. The suspect had “caused significant property damage” before fleeing on foot. As the cops were taking witness reports, they received a new report that “a naked man had entered a house and barricaded himself in a bathroom.” That reporting homeowner evacuated his family from the house to await the arrival of uniformed help.
When the cops reported to the second location, they found Callueng barricaded inside the home. He refused to comply with verbal orders to surrender. At that point, officers brought an SBPD K9 unit to the scene.
Moments later, Callueng—now suffering dog bites—was quickly subdued and taken into custody. He was then transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment of his canine-inflicted injuries. Later tauthorities took him to Santa Barbara County Jail. There they gave him a proper wardrobe of an orange jumpsuit and booked him on charges of felony vandalism, trespassing, resisting arrest, and “public intoxication via drugs.”
