FRAZIER PARK – A recent investigation into what the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit suspected was a drug trafficking operation resulted in four arrests.
The California Highway Patrol assisted in the investigation and performed a traffic stop on Interstate 5 near Frazier Mountain Park Road on October 17th. The Department of Homeland Security also also assisted with the investigation.
During the traffic stop, investigators found –
- 10 pounds of meth (street value – $90,800);
- 9 pounds of heroin (street value – $333,040);
- one stolen 9mm loaded handgun.
Three suspects were arrested at the scene and face charges of sales/transportation of meth and heroin, conspiracy, weapons violations, and possession of a stolen firearm.
- 24 year-old Ruben Cortez;
- 20-year-old Sadol Diaz;
- 24-year-old Jose Lozano.
Detectives also arrested 20-year-old Ricardo Zepeda later that same day near Highway 99 and County Line Road in Delano. Zepeda faces charges of conspiracy, sales of meth and of heroin.
