Indio – Police arrested a man and woman for an armed robbery in Thousands Palms following a police pursuit that ended in Indio.
Deputies from the Palm Desert station responded to a report of an armed robbery. It occurred on the 72-400 block of Ramon Road in Thousand Palms at 8:30 p.m. on October 25.
The victim said a male suspect entered their business armed with a firearm and took an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police saw a vehicle driving away from the business when they responded to the report. A pursuit ensued when the suspect vehicle refused to stop. Deputies chased the vehicle on to Interstate 10 and off the highway when it exited to Jefferson Street in Indio.
After the suspect vehicle drove through multiple intersections, the driver stopped and surrendered to police.
The driver of the vehicle, Guillermina DeLara, 47, of Indio, was arrested for robbery and felony evading.
The male suspect, Javier Taylor, 34, a transient, was arrested for armed robbery. Police said Taylor is also a suspect in a recent string of armed robberies that took place in September and October in the desert cities of Coachella, La Quinta, and Indio.
