PETALUMA – On Saturday November 3rd, Petaluma Police Department arrived at a residence in the 100 block of Rocca Drive in relation to a disturbance between neighbors. The arriving officers were aware of multiple previous incidents involving the disturbance suspect, 27-year-old Salomon Huitron. During those previous incidents of harassment and vandalism of his neighbor’s property, Huitron had reportedly been uncooperative and had “displayed behaviors to suggest he would resist officers”.
Arriving officers observed Huitron retreat into his house as they came on scene. This time, armed with a felony arrest warrant, they “pursued him and attempted to enter his residence.”
First, Huitron tried to block his door with his body, however that tactic eventually proved futile and officers eventually made entry into the home.
At this point, the suspect went into his backyard and continued resisting. Eventually in an attempt to subdue him, officers deployed a Taser.
The PPD states that Huitron “continued to fight officers as they attempted to take him into custody.”
After receiving treatment for minor injuries, the suspect was booked for resisting arrest and the outstanding warrant.
