SAN JOSE – The San Jose Police Department announced the arrest of three suspects who were responsible for a drive-by shooting that occurred on Saturday, November 3. SJPD detectives were parked in the area of Santee and Carnelian Drive around 7:30 p.m. Three suspects drove towards a man parked in his vehicle near his residence in plain view of the officers.
A 15-year-old suspect along with 18-year-old Adrian Alejandro Lopez and 27-year-old Juan Carlos Vasquez began arguing over gang status when someone from the car fired at the male victim, causing non-life threatening injuries. According to police, the Detectives witnessing the shooting started towards the suspects in an unmarked cruiser when the suspects began to speed away at a high rate of speed.
San Jose Detectives followed at a safe distance as the driver and his accomplices sped away towards Southbound Highway 101 eventually ending the high-speed chase in Hollister. The CHP, Hollister Police Officers and San Jose Detectives performed a high-risk felony stop, successfully taking the three suspects into custody.
The suspects suffered multiple injuries as they resisted arrest as they were taken to the ground to prevent the suspect from firing on officers. Each suspect was booked on attempted murder charges as well as evading police, and resisting arrest.
