OAKLAND – On October 24th the Oakland Police Department arrested a man and charged him in a series of robberies.
In addition to the 8 counts of robbery that he now faces, 22-year-old Steven McCord also faces weapons charges related to his recent crime spree.
The robberies occurred between September 23 and October 16 of this year, mainly in Chinatown.
Surveillance video clips, as well as information from the community, assisted officers in identifying and arresting McCord.
Once detained, McCord confessed to the crimes.
