GRASS VALLEY – The night of November 17th was a wild one for the Grass Valley Police Department and two females who attempted criminal activity.
Around midnight a theft report came in from the CVS store in Brunswick. The two female suspects fled in a car whose description was given to officers.
An officer spotted and stopped the vehicle on 49 south. The two suspects would not give identification to the officer. Then the driver of the getaway car took off, nearly inflicting “major injuries” on the officer as they fled.
The pursuit began, reaching speeds of 120 m.p.h. as the getaway driver drove with her headlights off. Officers backed off of the chase and yet the suspects continued speeding and driving recklessly.
The suspects then drove into Auburn, where their car went off the road near the Auburn Court House, hit a retaining wall, and ultimately and became immobile.
But it still wasn’t over, as the pair got out, ran, and tried to catch an Uber to Oakland.
25-year-old Nikia Durgin and 25-year-old Kaylah Jones, both of San Francisco, were arrested.
