SONORA – Just after midnight on November 21st (1:30 a.m., to be exact), officers with the Sonora Police Department stopped a vehicle “for an equipment violation.”
They ended up searching the vehicle, where they then discovered meth, drug paraphernalia, and a bag of what they suspected was stolen mail.
Despite his attempt to conceal his identity by giving the officers another name, the driver was identified as 35-year-old Craig Simonson. Simonson reportedly even had the other person’s identification on him. A further fingerprint check, however, validated his true identity.
Simonson taken into custody and booked into the Tuolumne County Jail where he faces a felony charge of false personation, as well as multiple misdemeanor offenses.
His unnamed passenger was also charged with two misdemeanors.
