BAKERSFIELD – The Fastrip at Mt. Vernon Avenue and Niles Street was the scene of an attempted carjacking just after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 28th.

The suspect was unsuccessful in forcing a female driver out of her vehicle at knife point. Instead, he punctured the vehicle’s tires and left. However, the suspect was not through with his mayhem.

At Mt Vernon Avenue and Pacific Street  the suspect, 40-year-old Paul Pearson, attacked a male victim from behind and stabbed him “multiple times about the head and neck.” The victim’s injuries were non-life threatening.

Pearson was located and arrested with the help of the Kern High School PD. He was then booked at the Kern County Central Receiving Facility, where he now faces charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, attempted carjacking and brandishing a weapon.
