NORWALK – On Thanksgiving Eve, 11/21/18, a female resident (79) carried her Thanksgiving groceries out of a store on Pioneer Boulevard.
Her out-of-town family would be arriving the next day for the Thanksgiving celebration. While walking eastbound on Pioneer Boulevard, she was struck down near Lindale Street.
The vehicle traveling northbound on Pioneer Blvd. never stopped to help her. Four minutes after leaving the store, PD Dispatch received calls of the critically injured elderly woman.
Deputies rushed to assist, but she died at the scene.
The victim remained unidentified until her unaware family members arrived at her home on Thanksgiving Day. Stunned by her absence, they called Norwalk PD, which revealed the tragic loss and identity of their loved one. The suspect is still on the loose.
