On December 8th, handmade Christmas decorations were stolen from a home on Fresno’s famous Christmas Tree Lane.
A tip delivered to Fresno’s H.E.A.T. (Help Eliminate Auto Theft) Task Force on December 12th claimed 34-year old Kristopher Cartozian had the decorations in his home on East Shields and North Mariposa.
When police arrived at the home, they made contact with Cartozian and searched the property. They found the missing decorations hidden in the yard of an abandoned neighboring home.
Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer was unharmed but Hermey the Elf’s left hand was altered. Someone had tapped down four fingers, leaving one finger standing to display an obscene gesture.
There was not sufficient evidence to link Cartozian to the theft of the decorations, however when police ran his name they discovered he was wanted for a residential burglary charge.
Cartozian was arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail. Hermey the Elf and Rudolph were returned to their rightful place, in the yard of their home on Christmas Tree Lane.
