CHINO HILLS – A tip directed detectives to a suspect who plundered a music school, then posted the booty for sale online.
Originally, Chino Hills Police Department deputies responded to a commercial burglary at 4200 Chino Hills Parkway on Dec. 7th at 2:00 AM. They arrived to a scene punctuated by shards of glass.
“Rockstars of Tomorrow” music school’s surveillance footage featured two suspects shattering the glass front door with an unknown object. The store was pillaged and several guitars were whisked away.
Next, Detectives received a tip on Dec. 11th – the loot was posted for sale online by Joe Adrian Perez (43).
As a result, “Detectives served a search warrant at Perez’s residence in San Dimas,” said SBSD-PD Detective K. Glozer. “Two matching guitars were located, along with suspected methamphetamine.”
Consequently, the plunderer was handcuffed and arrested for Commercial Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property. He’s currently in West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bail.
“This time…the good guys won!” said Rockstars of Tomorrow’s owner Michael Anderson. “Thank you so much to everyone who got involved with this heartless crime. The Rockstars of Tomorrow Army was out in full force. I am still overwhelmed by the messages, love and offers to help in ways I couldn’t have ever imagined. So many of you stepped up and I am so grateful.”
An update on Facebook declared, “Detectives recovered 2 of the guitars which is better than nothing,” said Anderson. ” Hoping we will find the other 4. One of them was sold on Offer Up. Thank you again!!!!”
