Santa Clarita — A robbery at the Logix Bouquet Canyon branch of Saugus bank on December 28th, 2018, at 2:55 pm spurred Los Angeles County Sheriff deputies and detectives into action that led to an arrest in less than eight hours.
It all started when a Hispanic man, believed to be in his mid-20’s, handed a bank teller a note demanding money.
Once he received an undisclosed sum, he fled on foot. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau (MCB) detectives responded to the scene and immediately launched an extensive investigation.
Before long, they uncovered a lead, which prompted MCB detectives, along with deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, to check out locations where the suspect had been known to frequent.
Sure enough, at approximately 10:35 p.m. suspect Joel Salazar, a 21-yeard-old male Hispanic, was arrested at a residence in Acton. He was taken to the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, where he was booked and is now being held on $50,000 bail.
