PINOLE — Four other law enforcement agencies assisted Pinole Police in capturing three fleeing burglary suspects. However, a fourth suspect remains at large.
Officers from Pinole PD were first to arrive on the scene, after a neighbor reported seeing intruders entering a backyard. These intruders were seen acting suspiciously behind a home on the 3900 block of Ponderosa Trail.
Soon enough, the resident arrived home and caused the intruders to flee from the home. They ran into a waiting car and sped away. For a while they were tailed by Pinole police.
Pinole officers lost the getaway car on Highway 4, and they broadcast a request for assistance from nearby agencies. Almost immediately, a Hercules PD officer passing through Martinez spotted the car.
The car was traveling eastbound on Highway 4, approaching the Alhambra Avenue exit. The driver exited onto Alhambra Avenue, and crashed, prompting four individuals to flee again—this time on foot.
Plenty of assistance arrived on the scene. Officers from five agencies collaborated to set up a perimeter. This resulted in the arrests of three suspects:
John Woods, 24 of Redwood City;
Jhacorieo Rooney, 25 of Oakland;
Justin Dorsey, 30 of San Francisco.
Each of the three suspects was positively identified by Pinole officers as being involved in the burglary. They were all booked for burglary at the Martinez Detention Facility.
Other agencies assisting Pinole police included the California Highway Patrol. In addition, officers assisted from the Martinez and Pleasant Hill police departments.
