Then, two more tips came in about the possibility of on-campus violence.  Due to the multiple tips, all local schools were put on lock-down.

Further investigation revealed that it was the high school where the threat was directed. At this point he lock-down at the elementary school was lifted, and Various law enforcement agencies responded to the high school where they worked together to help defuse the situation.

Eventually, a specific student was identified as a potential suspect and was taken into custody.

Students were individually searched and were cooperative with officers. A thorough search of the school was also conducted.

No weapons were found and no charges have been filed at this time

The MLPD says, “We are thankful there was no violence that occurred. Once again, this incident identified what a great working relationship we have with our fellow law enforcement agencies, fire department and the school district.”
