RIVERSIDE – Jason Rubio (42) of Riverside is officially off of the streets. The serial armed robber was responsible for seven businesses plundered in Riverside, starting September 14th.
Rubio robbed, or attempted robbery, by entering each business while armed with a handgun. After demanding that employees give him all of the money in the cash registers, he snatched the loot and fled on foot.
Investigators collected physical evidence at the scene of the robberies, which pointed directly to Rubio. Members of the Riverside PD’s METRO Team set out to find their man.
The suspect was located in the vicinity of Tyler Street and Magnolia Avenue on Jan. 3rd. The METRO Team placed Rubio under arrest for the series of Riverside robberies.
Detectives interviewed the suspect before booking him into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
