SISKIYOU COUNTY – Around 1:00 a.m. on February 4th a call came in to the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office from a moving Amtrak train. A man had reportedly “jumped on-board the back-up engine while it was in motion.”
The shirtless man appeared to be under the influence and exhibited hostile behavior to the train employees. In addition, he “attempted to manipulate train-related control devices and activated the train whistle on numerous occasions.”
In a more dangerous measure, the suspect also “attempted to place the train in emergency stop mode.”
Near S. Old Stage Road and Mott Road a McCloud Police Department officer detained 26-year-old Dylan Thomas Baldini.
Baldini was charged with public intoxication, trespassing on railroad property, and “interfering and hindering the safe and efficient operation of a locomotive.”
