SANTA ROSA – A unified group of various law enforcement agencies conducted a “controlled delivery of ecstasy pills on January 28.
A “controlled delivery” is when “a consignment of illicit drugs is detected and allowed to go forward under the control and surveillance of law enforcement officers in order to secure evidence against the organizers of such illicit drug traffic.”
The agencies working together were the SCSO, US Customs and Border Protection, US Department of Homeland Security and the USPS.
They allowed the package, first detected at JFK Airport, to go on through to its intended destination. Once ti arrived, they “secured the residence pending the issuance of a search warrant.”
They then obtained the delivered package of 2000 ecstasy pills. They also discovered other prepackaged drugs ready for sale – cocaine, Xanax bars, MDMA pulls, mushrooms, marijuana and other prescription pills.
29-year-old Martin Smith-Muchmore was arrested and charged with possessing illegal drugs, possession of narcotics for sale, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, felon is possession of body armor and possession of a silencer.
The suspect’s bail was set at $100,000.
