SAN RAMON — Two vehicle burglary suspects were arrested while allegedly making their rounds at shopping center parking lots. The pair was picked up by police on Wednesday February 6th.
The men are suspected of smashing windows and stealing items from parked vehicles throughout Contra Costa County. Two such vehicle burglaries were reported on Wednesday in San Ramon and Pleasant Hill.
Police credit the arrests of the two suspects to a witness who called 911 to report a vehicle break-in. The witness reported seeing one of the men shatter the rear window of a parked vehicle. This happened at the shops at Bishop Ranch shopping center, located on Sunset Drive in San Ramon.
Responding officers located a car associated with one of the suspects in the parking lot of a nearby Target store.
Items reported stolen were located by officers who searched the vehicle being used by the suspects.
A computer was recovered, which was reported stolen from a vehicle, parked at Crow Canyon Commons shopping center in San Ramon. A briefcase was recovered, which was reported stolen from a vehicle parked outside a coffee shop in Pleasant Hill.
The two suspects, Patrick Freeney and Antwon Johnson, both 24, were taken to the Martinez Detention Facility. Each was booked for possession of stolen property, burglary and conspiracy to commit crime.
