WILLITS – The day after Valentine’s, at 5:00 am, someone was trying to enter a residence in the 500 block of Acorn Place.
Arriving deputies noticed a blue Ford F250 as it blocked the driveway. In the truck they noticed an AR-15 assault rifle.
Then, a 911 call came in from Joshua Smith, saying that he was being chased by people he did not know.
Next, officers saw someone on the roof of a residence (it was not specified in the press release whether it was the same residence that they had first responded to).
With the help of a ladder they helped the man down. It turned out it was Joshua Smith (AKA Gibson, Webb). The F250 turned out to be his, and he had the keys in his pocket.
Smith determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance while possessing an assault weapon, and felony possession of an assault weapon. He is held on a bail of $15.000.
