LINDA – 52-year-old Fernly, Nevada resident Darrel Keith Higginbotham found himself prowling around on the night on February 28.
His antics caught the eye of a resident who then called 911 to report the suspicious behavior.
Officers arrived and arrested Higginbotham and “patted him down.” Officers discovered a loaded .45 caliber handgun, and a Sap (see photo).
In addition, the suspect is a convicted felon and “the subject of a restraining order” who “cannot legally possess firearms.”
Higginbotham’s vehicle also contained numerous weapons and high caliber magazines. Among the stash were two short-barreled rifles, a shotgun and six handguns. Two of the handguns were reported as stolen.
Higignbotham was charged with possession of a baton, felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of an assault weapon and possession of stolen property.
