Ventura County – As if the recent television broadcast of the documentary detailing the long-running illegal behaviors of “The King of Pop” Michael Jackson wasn’t enough to bring the subject to the forefront of everyone’s minds, a 15-year-old female Thousand Oaks resident has now been revealed as the victim of a protracted period sexual assault by a family member.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Captain Renee Ferguson, on the afternoon of March 1st, deputies assigned to the Thousand Oaks Police Department Patrol Division arrived at a local area home where there was a report of a sexual assault.
Upon arrival at the Saint Charles Drive residence, deputies interviewed the reporting party and learned that a “15-year-old victim was being sexually abused by her step-father for the past 2 ½ years.”
At that point, deputies summoned the City of Thousand Oaks Major Crimes Sexual Assault Unit. Detectives soon arrived to conduct further investigation, interviewing both the alleged juvenile victim and 55-year-old Luis Ayala who is married to the victim’s mother.
Pursuant to that investigation, Ayala was taken into custody and transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of PC§288.5(a) for continued sexual abuse of a child.
Upon booking, “due to the nature of the crime” a bail increase was requested and imposed, setting Ayala’s bail at $200,000.
