LOS BANOS — Near Overland Avenue and Rockport Drive on March 7, a LBPD officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle, and then called in an assisting officer and K-9 Maverick.
Maverick conducted an “open-air sniff” of the vehicle and “alerted the officer to the presence of narcotics within the vehicle.”
Sure enough, inside the vehicle, the officers discovered a pound of cocaine packaged for sales.
29-year-old Joshymar Estrada was arrested for “various drug violations” and had a bail set of $100,000.
The LBPD notes that Maverick was ” purchased by a generous donation from a member of our community. He has proven to be an excellent resource for Los Banos.”
