ROSEVILLE – A deputy recently spotted a vehicle being driven by a person who appeared to be intoxicated. The officer then tried to stop the vehicle.
However, the driver 24-year-old Andrew Salazar had other plans and took off. At times Salazar drove 90 m.p.h. as he proceeded east on Interstate 80.
Finally, another deputy deployed a spike strip and damaged Salazar’s vehicle at 80 and Highway 49.
Salazar tried to keep driving on the damaged tires, but he didn’t get much farther and was arrested.
Charges for the parolee are evading a peace officer and hit and run, and his bail is $150,000.
