CHICO – A stabbing occurred at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Nord Avenue on the night of March 4th.
The victim in the parking lot was reportedly suffering for “multiple stab wounds to his upper body.”
The next morning, investigators were at the apartment complex continuing their investigation when a call concerning another stabbing came in to the Chico Police Department.
The second stabbing occurred at the same complex, where the investigators were at the time. Witnesses directed them to a fleeing suspect.
Additional officers arrived and set up a perimeter in the area. Officers also discovered the second stabbing victim.
Officers found the suspect hiding in a shed at a residence on Stewart Avenue. 33-year-old James Jacobs was then arrested.
Witnesses who saw both stabbings helped nab Jacobs for the crimes. He was charged with attempted homicide.
Both of the stabbing victims “remain at the hospital in stable condition.”
