TURLOCK – On the morning of March 8th a man and woman arrived at a house in the 1400 block of South First Street. Not long after that, another car containing two males also arrived at the residence.
The two arriving males challenged the other male to a fight. The male victim tried to leave in his vehicle. Thomas McAbee and Luiz Martinez, both 21-years-old, fired on the victim. The incident was apparently spurred on by the fact that the victim is a gang member.
Four days later on the afternoon of March 12th, Turlock Police department officers located and arrested Martinez for the shooting. He faces charges of attempted murder, participation in a street gang and use of a firearm while committing a felony.
For his part, McAbee remains on the loose, facing the same charges.
