FRESNO, CA – A Greyhound bus was 3 miles from its destination of the Fresno Downtown Bus Station, when it swerved right, swerved left and crashed into an embankment. The accident left ten out of the 35 passengers in physical pain, one needing hospital attention for minor injuries.
The trip started four hours before the crash, in Sacramento, on March 24th. One passenger noted the driver, 28-year old Ashton Castillo “looked kinda tired” as he handed Castillo his ticket. Many of the passengers described Castillo’s driving skills during this trip as “poor.”
Castillo was drug tested after the accident and came up positive for drugs. Furthermore, it was discovered his driving privileges were suspended just three days before this incident. Castillo is charged with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license. He bonded out of Fresno County Jail on March 26th.
