SANTA CLARA —On March 23rd a fight broke out during a party at an apartment complex located near the 100 block of Washington Street. The fight involved multiple suspects who witnessed a stabbing incident. According to Santa Clara Police, “approximately 15 male and female subjects were detained in the parking lot until officers could determine their ties, if any, to the incident.”
During the party, an unknown male approached several other party goers. The suspect was unhappy with them being at the party and began to argue with them. The suspect then became violent and started to attack multiple people with a knife.
Four victims were identified as having minor stab wounds with one person suffering a contusion to the head and another with only minor injuries. One person was taken to a local hospital and treated for his wounds while several others were treated at the scene by paramedics and fire crews who responded to the victim’s 9-1-1 call to the Santa Clara Police Dispatch Center.
The suspect involved in the stabbing was still on scene when police arrived. He was detained by police and arrested for assault and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail. A second individual associated with the group had a $45,000 warrant and was arrested. It was determined that he was not involved in the fight.
