WEST SACRAMENTO – Transients and squatters began inhabiting a residence, against the owner’s wishes. The owners were unable to safely clean and repair the residence due to the unwanted guests.
Law enforcement responded and made contact with six adults at the residence. All six were removed from the residence and one was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Code Enforcement then determined that the house was “unsafe for habitation.”
After the residence was secured and notices were placed on the outside, someone tried to re-enter the dwelling. The person removed the signs, and removed a piece of plywood that newly covered a window, and tried to set up shop.
Officers returned to the residence and found the new trespasser, who admitted removing the plywood and entering the home. This suspect was arrested and taken into custody, and now faces trespassing and narcotics charges.
